21-A Reading Reflection No.2

The book I chose to read for the second half of the semester was entitled How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big by Scott Adams. The main theme of this book centered around how failures are destined to come around in life. In the book it talked about how we had to use the failures to contribute to success. When I read the book I found it very enticing and insightful because Scott Adams, gave tips and things on how to accept failures and make the situation as a whole better, which will ultimately help you become a better entrepreneur. The book connected to  what I was learning in ENT 3003 because it talked about failures and overcoming them. This is very similar to how we did our Halfway Reflection recalling what we did at first in the beginning of the semester (which may have been failures) and what we did later on to improve. If I had to design an activity in this class based on this book I would have all the students write down 5 things they have done this past school that had resulted in them failing a quiz, assignment etc. Then I would have each student write as to why this happened and what they will do next time to lesson the consequences. The thing that stood out to me the most when I read this book was how Scott Adams described goals. He described them of being in the future and specific. I would say that I agree with him on this, but most educators would disagree with him saying that goals are essential for growth. Either way this definitely was a game changer for me.
